About
Population Census in the Countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States.
By the beginning of
the current year the 2010 round population censuses were conducted successfully
in four states of the Commonwealth.
In 2009 they took place: in February - in Kazakhstan, in March - in Kyrgyzstan
, in April - in Azerbaijan, in October - in Belarus.

Resident population -
population made up of the persons habitually living in the given territory on
population
census day, including residents temporarily
absent.
According to the
International recommendations, at population census to this category the foreign
citizens continuously living in territory of the country during the certain
period of time can concern, and also to be excluded is long absent permanent
residents of the country.
With a view of maintenance of the international comparability it is recommended
to apply a 12 month's threshold of time.
