    The statistical information presented in this publication is devoted to foreign trade of  the twelve countries making up the Commonwealth of Independent States and the fifteen Member States of the European Union. The data show the trends in foreign trade during the period 1994-1996 for the CIS as a whole, for the EU as a whole, for individual countries and for the main commodity groups. An analytical review of the main tendencies in foreign economic activity of the CIS and EU countries is also given.
