Commonwealth of Independent States in 2006
(Statistical yearbook)

     The yearbook presents statistical materials characterizing socio-economic situation in the Commonwealth countries (each country taken separately and in comparison with each other) for 2000-2006. It includes information on population, employment, gross domestic product, prices, output of basic industrial and agricultural products, consumer market, consumption of main foodstuffs, consolidated budgets, development of financial market, money income and expenditure of population, social sphere, external trade, international comparisons. Brief methodological explanatory notes are given for main statistical indicators.

The source of the information contained in the yearbook are official data of the CIS national statistical services. Information for Moldova is given excluding territory of left bank of the Dniester river and Bendery city. 1 January 2006 in Azerbaijan 5000 - times denomination of national currency (manat) was carried out. Aggregated and other derived indicators are calculated, as a rule, on the basis of common methodology approved by the Council of the Heads of Statistical Services of the CIS countries and corresponding to international standards. Recalculations of a number of value indicators were done with the usage of average annual official exchange rates published by the CIS national banks. Data for 2006 for some indicators are preliminary and can be revised later. In individual cases negligible discrepancy between total and sum of items is explained by the rounding of the data.
